The GVR utilises a single coil magnetic actuator mechanism which allows it to operate independently of the HV supply and to be tested in an ordinary workshop.

The GVR can be pole-mounted or substation mounted. When supplied with the Polarr relay it can operate as a stand alone recloser without the need for an additional supply. When using the Panacea control and protection relay it can be integrated into the most advanced distribution automation schemes.
